Void Of Light, the debut EP by Matt Bass has been a long time coming, but it´s here: 4 slices of pitch-black Darkcore business, super authentic to the golden 92-94 era.

So..Dark! lulls you into an uplifting angelic mood, think Lucky Spin/ Deejay from that era with warm pads and guru chants. Suddenly we´re switching into another program: A heavy drop hits you unexpectedly, pitched-up and -down ragga chants slap you in the face and before you can comprehend what happened here Matt Bass ramps up the unease with a superdark drop that´s dripping of darkness. It´s...so...dark!

Can´t Take It No More has something about it, we fell in love straight away. It starts with bells, and is overall super low-fi with fat subs, pitched-up HipHop samples, and that distinctive 'I Can´t Take It No More' sample. The pads sound as if they were lifted straight off a reel, a crusty production that is perfect in its own right. This can be placed straight between your 92/93 selection and no one would guess it´s a new production!

Void Of Light is the epos here! Dark as the night and a staggering 8 minutes long! What to say about this? It has horror samples galore, a sub-bass that will peel your impure skin off, and that´s even before the reece hits you and the tunes flips itself on its head and hits you with melancholic pads and a piano before switching off the lights again. You can´t prepare for that ride!

60 Seconds and we ignite sequence style! This tune will rocket you straight outta orbit. Earthshaking subs, dubby Amazon vibes, spacey pads, and astronautic vocals will send you straight back into those shady raves with whistles and horns, tops off and sweat dripping from the ceiling.
